At the tender age of 25, I decided it was time to see the world. I had a PR degree, experience in radio and television production and retail expertise, and endless enthusiasm. I had planned to stay in the UK for three weeks... but 12 years later, I’m still here! I landed a job at Laura Ashley in 1996 and started out in International Marketing and worked my way up to Direct Marketing and then became Brand Marketing and PR Manager.
After getting married in 2000, it was time to take a freelancing approach to my career and that’s when things really started to take off. I undertook contracts with Miss Selfridge, Twentieth Century Fox, launched Financial Services and Nectar at Debenhams, consulted on Business Affinity at O2 and got M & S Food on its way. All of this and an MA in Strategic Marketing too! Time to take a break and do some more travelling for a few months and then I sipped my way around Whittard of Chelsea for some Direct Marketing consulting. I was lured into the world of contract publishing at Publicis Blueprint which allowed me to get a sneak preview into the agency way of life and most recently completed a contract as Head of Marketing at John Lewis.
Retail and Marketing have been real passions for me. It allows me to think creatively, strategically and it taught me to always wear a business hat whenever I think of the bigger picture.
